DEVIL ON MY SHOULDER
I don’t wanna face the day
But I’m left without a choice
I’d love to turn the other way
And listen to the voice
Inside my head
That speaks to me
In such a tempting kind of way
Instead I keep on driving on
As if I have a choice
Devil’s on my shoulder again
Whispering words that I don’t wanna hear
I watch the clock tick on and on
Same old shit, different day
Staring out on crystal skies
Tinted shades of grey
My best laid plans have gone to waste
The upturned fickle finger of fate
I close my eyes and my mind drifts
To thoughts of what may be
Devil’s on my shoulder again
Whispering words that I don’t wanna hear
It’s a choice that we all have to make
To live each day or keep on
Making the same mistake
And for once in my life I’d like to heed the words
And see what lies behind the unopened door
But I’m torn between head and heart
Between you and me I yearn for so much more
I don’t wanna face the day
But I’m left without a choice
I’d love to turn the other way
And listen to the voice
Inside my head
That calls to me
In such a tempting kind of way
Instead I keep on driving
As if I have a choice
